Help! I’m Too Busy!
Re-read Luke 10:38-42. Who do you relate to the most, Martha or Mary?
What things in your life make you busy? Why do you do them? How can you sort out between good busy-ness and negative busy-ness?
Do you feel driven or called to do things in your life? Where you are driven, what is driving you?
Read Matthew 6:25-34 and try to live it out!
Jesus often seems to actively avoid becoming a successful and famous religious leader. How did Jesus get the strength to resist this temptation? If you look at Mark 1:29-34 Jesus is a real hit. Read verse 35 to see how he responds. Notice the human expectation in verse 36-37. Why do you think Jesus responds as he does in verse 38? How might you spend time with God to help you make good decisions?
Read 1 John 4:16-19. It is interesting that in verse 19 John talks about God’s love coming first. How can you spend time in God’s love before you try to express your love back to God in your work?
Are you able to spend time concentrating on God when you have a lot of things to do? What might help you to get away from your tasks and free you to concentrate on God?
Ask people you know about what they do to spend time with God. Try some of them yourself.
