Last month Dave was talking about growing faith and in the Takeaway listed 5 dynamics to grow faith. Can you remember what they were?

In today's passage in Colossians 2:6-15 Paul talks about being 'built up' in Christ. Have we understood this idea of spiritual growth, being built up in our faith? How far are you finding the following helpful?
1. Spending time with God; reading the Bible; talking to him in prayer-praise, thanksgiving, confession; reading Christian books, biographies etc; listening to Christian music; finding helpful Christian websites, TV shows.
2. Meeting with other believers at church, in a homegroup; being part of as team; finding the place where we can use the gifts we have been given to bless others.
3. Giving -tithing, letting God take the financial strain and look after our finances.

What could you add to the list? You might want to share
with others about faith habits/disciplines you have found particularly helpful.

Paul speaks about not being taken 'captive' by things – ideas, philosophies that do not have a basis in Christ, and the writer of Hebrews says, ‘Let us throw off everything that hinders’ (12:1). Are there any aspects of our lives God might be asking us to review?

Read Hebrews 10:22 and James 4:8. We have got out of the habit of expecting people to memorise scriptures but getting God's promises firmly established in our minds could be no bad thing!

Our third week as we work our way through the book of Colossians. Dave looks at Paul's understanding of the mystery of the universe and how this set the course of his life. We then ask how this might practically work itself out in our lives and our church.
