How to get our Podcasts

Podcasting is a great way to catch up on a talk you may have missed. These terms and technology can be a bt intimidating, so here's a quick guide on how to get our podcast using iTunes.
  1. If you don't have iTunes software, download it from www.apple.com and install it - if you need further information you might want to look at these instructional videos.
  2. Click here to open up the Exeter Vineyard Church page in the iTunes store. This link will open the iTunes software - you may need to click "Allow" to tell your computer it's a safe link.
  3. In iTunes, click the "Subscribe" button. This tells your iTunes software that you want to be updated whenever a new item - be it a talk, a video or the monthly Church News - is added to our podcasts.
  4. Once you have subscribed to our podcast, iTunes will take you out of the iTunes store to your podcast directory. Here you see all the podcasts you subscribe to. Exeter Vineyard Church will be there with a list of all the available podcasts.
  5. You can change the settings of how iTunes deals with new items. The default setting is usually to download the most recent podcast - in fact iTunes may have already started to download the most recent talk. To change your settings click on "Settings..." at the bottom. You can change your settings for all the podcasts you are subscribed to or just for our podcast. Personally I have it set to "Do Nothing". This means I can choose what to download by clicking the "Get" button for whatever talk I want.
  6. Talks that have been downloaded show as black writing. You can listen to them on your computer, move them to your iPod or mp3 player or even burn to a CD. If you need help doing this let me know and I can write some more instructions if there is a need.
  7. There are lots of great podcasts on the iTunes store. If you want to have a look you can go to the iTunes store in the left column or click on "Podcast Directory" arrow at the bottom of your Podcast window. You can search for podcasts. There are lots of churches podcasting their sermons, including lots of American Vineyard churches. I often listen to ones from the Vineyard Church of Columbus, Avarda Vineyard and Evaston Vineyard and I can recommend them.
